WEEK 1B

In class, we learned many important things about the process of creating a design. After being placed with my partner Sarah we began doing some team building exercises. At first, I thought they were just going to be some pointless ice breaker to remove awkward tension. But these activities were much more than that. The first one involved communication, one person was handed a piece of paper with a shape and then had to describe it while the other to draw. After completing the activity I realized exactly what it was meant to do. The activity basically forced me and Sarah to communicate. If we couldn't do something as simple as draw a shape that is described then how could we create a whole project together?Another interesting thing we went over in class was the jobs for the iid conference. I signed up to be a speaker which basically means talking to all the guest speakers and presenting them when it's their turn to present. Lastly, we were assigned an article to read this week on Medium.com. I thought this article made some very interesting points. The main thing I took from it was, to be flexible with my ideas. You should never close off all your options simply because you like one aspect. I think the article really helped remind me to keep my flexibility while creating.
